Sara Pezzini was a normal homicide detective with a penchant for taking strong risks to bring in criminals. Her entire life changed the day she and her partner Michael Yee came across one of Kenneth Irons' tournaments in the Rialto Theater. While investigating the tournament, both officers were fatally shot, but Sara's life was saved by the prize of the tournament: the Witchblade. With the Witchblade attached to her, Sara became the target of many people, most particularly Kenneth Irons who has long wanted the Witchblade's power for himself. She finally believed him out of her life when he and his bodyguard Ian Nottingham fell from his penthouse apartment, seemingly to their deaths. Apparently, nothing last forever, not even death in Irons' case, as both he and Nottingham have returned to trouble Sara's life o nce more. For a time, Ian gained control of the Witchblade due to Irons' influence, but eventually Sara regained control of it. Later Sara learned that Joe Siry was the man that had killed her father. Recently Ian has gained a gauntlet of his own and he is back working for Irons. A mob war has bbroken out and Sara, with Jake, is investigating it. First Appearance: Cyblade/Shi #1
